The Bad Tatzmannsdorf hot air airship competitions are scheduled for September 4 and 7, 2000. The sports programme is planned to begin at 4 p.m., pending wind and weather conditions. Take off and landing sights will be on the hill behind the Steigenberger Hotels. The golf course will be the location for two different competitions. There are various types of competitions: Speed Competitions are where airships travel a defined route to achieve the fastest time. In Touch and Go-Competitions the airships have to land on a 5 m2 size marker and then take off again. |

The most exciting competition will be the slalom with Le Mans-start: here all airships will need to take off at the same time. The gates of this slalom course allow only one airship to pass through at a time, which should present some thrilling moments. The main area for this race will be holes 5 and 6 of the golf course which borders the street, allowing great viewing. Directions: follow the state street B 50 (either coming from Eisenstadt or from Oberwart), then take the turn to the Steigenberger Hotels and golf course. After the railway crossing, you drive over the bridge of the Tschabach river coming to the parking lot for visitors on the left. |
